The cellular jail was constructed between 1896 and 1906 at Port Blair with seven wings surrounding a watch tower from where guards could keep an eye on the prisoners. Each cell faced the back of another cell so that prisoners could not communicate. Every part of the memorial tells the tales of India’s fight for freedom. Entry fee to the memorial is Rs.10, Rs.25 for camera and Rs.100 for video cameras.

Explore the limestone caves

Take a trip to the Baratang Island to explore the amazing limestone caves. A boat ride in the midst of the waterways that are canopied by large trees of the surrounding forest is equally wonderful. When you reach the caves, you are amazed by the unique formations of stalactites and stalagmites, which are common inside the caves. Erosion of these formations over the years have crafted some impressive shapes that are worth capturing.

Sea walk at North Bay Island
